Testing on the Wacebo DabliuTouch E1M Premium 65-inch infrared touch display confirms a complementary option for managing teaching resources alongside Wacebo’s Dabliu Notes software.

COLL-IN collaboration software running on a Wacebo interactive display, with multiple documents and media on a shared workspace.

Future Software has confirmed compatibility between its COLL-IN collaboration software and the Wacebo DabliuTouch E1M Premium 65-inch infrared touch display, expanding the options available to schools, colleges and universities developing interactive teaching spaces.

Testing covered operation on an Intel Core i5 Windows OPS (Wacebo Mini OPS 12 Series) installed within the display and on an external PC connected via HDMI with the associated touch connection. Functions assessed included dragging, resizing and rotating documents, infrared touch compatibility and the software’s web interface.

The successful testing provides a practical reference for education providers considering COLL-IN for classrooms, seminar rooms, lecture spaces and training facilities.

Present and interact with multiple teaching resources

COLL-IN complements the Dabliu Notes software available on Wacebo displays, giving schools additional options for multi-window content management and cloud access across rooms. Dabliu Notes remains Wacebo’s own teaching and whiteboarding software within the DabliuTouch ecosystem. With COLL-IN, educators can display PowerPoint presentations, PDFs, Excel spreadsheets, images, videos and web content simultaneously, then move, resize and arrange them directly on the touchscreen.

A lecturer can place a presentation alongside a supporting video and reference document, bringing relevant information into view as a discussion develops. In practical teaching, technical diagrams, instructions and demonstration materials can be presented together, helping learners explore the connections between them.

For schools, combining the interactive display with an integrated Windows OPS and COLL-IN software reduces the need for a separate classroom PC and external cables. Deployment, training and support can be coordinated through a single agreed point of contact, giving teaching and IT teams a clear route for assistance.

Access prepared content across teaching spaces

Beyond the display functionality demonstrated during testing, COLL-IN’s cloud-connected platform enables educators to access uploaded teaching materials from another authorised COLL-IN-equipped room.

With materials available through the portal, a teacher or lecturer can log in and retrieve their content when moving between teaching spaces, including when their usual room or laptop is unavailable.

Shared teaching resources can also be made available across multiple rooms, giving educators access to a consistent set of core materials while allowing them to upload their own supporting content. This can support coordinated delivery across departments and campuses, subject to the relevant content permissions and licensing.

Capture annotations and share session notes

Alongside the teaching and whiteboarding tools in Dabliu Notes, COLL-IN offers annotation within its multi-window workspace. Educators can annotate documents and attach COLL-IN notes to specific parts of a document. Saved notes can be used as speaker notes, while annotated snapshots and notes can be downloaded as PDFs for sharing after a session.

This gives teaching staff a way to distribute material discussed in class, provide revision resources and help absent learners catch up.

COLL-IN also supports breakout workflows for sharing information and assigning tasks to different groups, supporting collaborative activities within and between connected learning spaces.

Support for education IT teams

COLL-IN combines a Windows-based display application with a cloud portal hosted on Future Software’s Microsoft Azure infrastructure. Connections to OneDrive or Google Drive can be configured to suit an institution’s preferred content-storage approach, with options for multi-factor authentication.

The shared backend supports expansion from an initial classroom deployment to additional teaching spaces. Future Software can also work with an institution’s IT team on deployment, training and ongoing support, with on-premises backend options available for organisations with specific requirements.

The Wacebo testing confirms compatibility with the core touchscreen workflows assessed during the session. Together with COLL-IN’s wider content-management and collaboration capabilities, this offers education providers a flexible platform for presenting, discussing and sharing teaching materials.
